THE BENEFITS OF DIATOMACEOUS EARTH FOR PETS

diatomaceous earth can prevent fleas and treat them safely and effectively
Diatomaceous Earth is a dirt cheap way to control external and internal parasites in your dog.
Diatomaceous Earth is a non-toxic, safe substance made up from crushed fossils of freshwater organisms and marine life. Crushed to a fine powder and observed through a microscope, the particles resemble bits of broken glass. Diatomacous Earth is deadly to any insect yet completely harmless to animals.
Diatomaceous Earth’s mode of action for insect and parasite control is strictly mechanical. The microscopically sharp edges contact the insect or parasite, and pierce their protective coating, so they soon dehydrate and die. The larvae is affected in the same way.
The Benefits Of Diatomaceous Earth For Dogs:
Internal parasites can be controlled by giving Diatomaceous Earth internally. It is very important to note that it must be food grade – the earth used in gardens and pool filters can damage your dog. Diatomaceous Earth can eliminate roundworms, whipworms, pinworms, and hookworms within seven days of being fed daily. To be most effective, Diatomaceous Earth should be fed for at least 30 days, to catch all newly hatching eggs or the cycling of the worms through the lungs and back to the stomach.
Another use for Diatomaceous Earth is the control of external parasites and flies. This is achieved by dusting your dog with Diatomacous Earth, along with his bedding area and surrounding carpeted areas.

    Other uses for DE:
    Garden Pest Control:
DE can be used to kill slugs, beetles, and other unwanted pests in the garden. I would repeat the process every 2-3 days to break the life cycle of flea. I shake it onto my lawn or area my pets go potty, let it soak in with a rain or a few good dewey mornings, and it not only repels all pests, but kills what is there without damaging your lawn!
What Kind Of Diatomaceous Earth Should I Use?
Only food grade, never stuff you find at the pool supply shop.
How I Take Diatomaceous Earth Internally?
Most people say diatomaceous earth should be taken on an empty stomach. What this means is somewhat vague, but from what I can tell best practices are to take it:
***First thing in the morning, on dog’s food.
When I use DE, I start with ½ tsp on dog’s food (or if kibble, sift it down through to cover the kibble. Like many supplements, schedule breaks from DE so that the pet’s body doesn’t get overwhelmed. In the case of DE, I prefer to use it for about a month continuously, then once or twice a week after that. This will keep your dog parasite free internally and externally!!!

“I have been using the Flea/ Tick Blend, Digestion Blend and Pain Relief Formula on Monte. While he’s not a fan of sprays, Monte loves when I am rubbing his back, legs or belly and spritz the Flea/Tick Blend on him. We are just starting to see a change and uptick (pun intended!) in fleas here in Florida, and I’ve noticed, with regular use, Monte is flea free! The same can be said for the Pain Relief formula in that he still isn’t a fan of the spray, but when combined with rubbing his joints, I’ve noticed that his hips don’t tighten up as much as they have been. The Digestion Blend has been the most interesting experience for us. It comes in a dropper, and I will put a dropper of the blend on his food. I tried to put the drops directly into his mouth, but he was definitely not a fan! Once he had a few meals with the blend, I noticed that his unsavory breath was starting to get much better! I won’t lie…we did experience some other digestive issues which cleared up after a few meals with this blend.—Usula Zamora

Hi. I have a question. Wasnt really sure where to write it. Can I use these products on a puppy thats only 8 weeks old or should I wait until he’s a bit older?

  • Yael G says:

Luv, Luv, Luv!!!!! While everyone one else has spent loads of money on products that are harmful to their pets & end up not protecting, preventing or getting rid of fleas or ticks, I am celebrating my dogs not being miserable!!!!!!!!

I have a question! We have a black lab that is 8 months old and about 55 pounds. How often do you think we would have to buy this product?
